Our online retail platform
Shopify Inc. provides the e-commerce platform that enables us to offer our collection online. When you make an online purchase from our collection, your data is stored through the Shopify application, and through Shopify’s data storage and databases, which operate on a secure server protected by a firewall.
Information collected during Shopify transactions
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, Shopify temporarily stores your credit card data, enacting data encryption through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
Shopify stores your transaction data only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase, after which it is deleted.
All direct payment gateways accepted by Shopify adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS, as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a body founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard and Visa Inc.
For further information, see Shopify’s Terms of Service and Privacy Statement.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
In general, the third-party providers with whom we deal will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to enable them to perform the services with which they provide us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, maintain their own privacy policies regarding the information they require us to provide for your purchases.
We recommend that you read these parties’ privacy policies in order to understand the ways in which they manage personal information.
Further, it is important to note that certain providers may be located in, or have facilities located in, a different jurisdiction. Accordingly, if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction/s in which that service provider or its facilities are located.
For example, if you are located in Australia and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.
It is also important to note that when you click on links within our online store, some may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites, and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
We take all reasonable precautions and adhere to the best practices of our industry to protect your personal information, and to ensure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
When you provide us with your credit card information, it is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with AES-256 encryption. Although no method of online transmission or electronic storage is guaranteed to be infallibly secure, we meet all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional, generally accepted industry standards in order to maximise security.
